Over the past three months, I’ve accomplished something I thought I never would: I’ve learned most of the PLL Perms for the last layer. Henceforth, Summer 2012 shall be known as:
Honestly, I never thought I could learn all of these. They seemed impossible to commit to memory, difficult to perform, and easy to confuse. I won’t lie, it took a lot of practice, all in fits and spurts — 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there, etc. But after only 3 months — and dozens of visits to the PLL wiki, lots and lots of youtube viewings, and a few speedsolving.com posts — voila! I’ve been tracking these on my OLL/PLL accomplishment page. But here are they are, EXACTLY as I perform them:
PLL | Setup | Algorithm |
H | (M2 U) (M2 U2) (M2 U) M2 | |
Z | (M2 U) (M2 U) (M’ U2) (M2 U2) (M’ U2)
Ua | F (R U’ R’ U’) (R U R’) F’ (R U R’ U’) Lw’ (U R U’)
Ub | (R’ U R’ d’) (Lw’ U’) ([Lw R] U’ R’ U) (R’ F R F)
Aa | F (R U’ R’ U’) (R U R’) F’ (R U R’ U’) Lw’ (U R U’)
Ab | (R’ U R’ d’) (Lw’ U’) ([Lw R] U’ R’ U) (R’ F R F)
Na | z D (R’ U) (R2 D’ R D U’) (R’ U) (R2 D’ R U’ R) z’
Y | F (R U’ R’ U’) (R U R’) F’ (R U R’ U’) Lw’ (U R U’)
V | (R’ U R’ d’) (Lw’ U’) ([Lw R] U’ R’ U) (R’ F R F)
Ja | (R’ U2) (R U R’) z R2 (U R’) D (R U’)
Jb | (R U2′) (R’ U’) (R U2′) L’ U R’ U’ L
F | (R’ U2 R’ d’) (R’ F’) (R2 U’ R’ U) (R’ F R U’ F)
T | (R U R’ U’) (R’ F) (R2 U’) (R’ U’ R) (U Lw’ U’) [x’]
E | x’ (R U’ R’) D (R U R’) D’ (R U R’) D (R U’ R’) D’ x
Ra | (R U2 R) D (R’ U R) D’ (R’ U’) (R’ U R U R’)
Rb | (R’ U2 R’) D’ (R U’ R’) D (R U R U’) (R’ U’ R) |
Still left are the G Perms (all four of them) and Nb. Those five are difficult for me at the moment. But I’ll get there eventually….
